We kicked off our Fallen Fields topic by putting ourselves in the shoes of the brave men getting ready to set off to war in 1914. We looked at photos of men from the time and discussed how they might be feeling.
We made a success criteria and added some vocabulary we may want to use. Some pupils then engaged in a guided write to help construct a diary, whereas others wrote independently.
We recorded some of the pupils reading the diaries.
