Skippy John

After his previous successful visit to the school, the School Council decided that they would book Skippy John to help promote healthy lifestyles in school by hosting a whole day skipping workshop. Each class had an individual workshop with the skipping expert and then there was a whole school celebration assembly where pupils were chosen to highlight the skills that they had been taught. Eisteddfod Art Competition

For our Eisteddfod Art competition the class had draw a wonder of Wales using oil pastels. Our Esiteddfod art competition winners were judged by Mr Celement.

Year 5:

3rd Place = Leah (Castell Coch)

2nd Place = Danielle (Severn Bridge)

1st Place = Chloe (Botanic Gardens)

Year 6:

3rd Place = Sophie (Castell Coch)

2nd Place = Ben (Snowdon)

1st Place = Edward (Castell Coch)

Six Nations Prediction Round 4

Throughout the 6 Nations, as a bit of fun Year 5/6 have been challenging followers of our class Twitter account, @lps140club to predict the winners of games in the 6 Nations rugby tournament.

Round 4's games are:
Ireland v Italy
Scotland v France
Engand v Wales

Six Nations Predictions - Round 3

So, with Wales stuttering in the second round against Ireland, we now move on to round 3 of the Six Nations. The games this week are:

Dare Valley Park

Today we teamed up with Year 3/4 for a day of team building and outdoor adventurous activities at Dare Valley Park in Aberdare. The rain...and the almost non stop rain we have experienced for quite some time meant that there was quite a lot of mud to battle with.

We started off with a range of team building activities that required communication, cooperation and problem solving skills. There were activities such as gutter ball, bomb drop, rope tangle and more.

The afternoon consisted of rock climbing for Year 5/6 and orienteering and bivouac building for Year 3/4. Everyone had a great time and loved experiencing working together as a team to achieve goals.

6 Nations Predictions - Week 2
