Scream Machine - paper roller coasters

We have been studying the topic Scream Machine this term, looking at the science of roller coasters. We have researched roller coasters, rode them 'virtually', written poems and made carts to name but a few of our activities. The culmination of this topic was for our thinking groups to plan, design and make their own paper roller coasters.

Each group had to come up with a theme for their ride and were all given the same sized wooden cuboid frame (however, unfortunately Gwyrdd's broke so an emergency K-Nex one was built!). 

We researched how to make curves, loop the loops and other paper roller coaster features and got busy making!

We invited Year 3/4 to come and evaluate our roller coasters. They were given four questions to consider when viewing each one:

1. Which is your overall favourite?
2. Which one would you like to ride?
3. Which was the most attractive?
4. Which one worked the best?
