Scream Machine surveys

To kick off our new topic, 'Scream Machine', our class have been generating questions which they could ask to survey the class about roller-coasters and theme parks. Each group set up their survey and then went around the class canvassing their opinions. Here are some examples of their tally charts and bar graphs.

Welsh Sporting Heroes - Our Wall of Fame!

After a busy summer of renovations work at Llanharan Primary School, including a brand new frontage and windows, doors etc… a new addition was recently added. During the summer term we held a vote to find out who the nation’s favourite Welsh Sporting Heroes were via our Twitter account @lps140club. The votes were counted and the top twelve were named. CLICK The pupils then drew the magnificent twelve and the best drawings were chosen. Over the summer, the artists from Brighter Ideas came and scaled the children’s drawings up onto the walls outside the Key Stage 2 classrooms. Here are the final efforts.

Autumn Term 2013

Welcome to another new academic year. Our topic for this term is ‘The Scream Machine’. We will be looking at the science behind roller coasters and the forces that drive them. Our author focus is Robert Swindells and his book, Room 13. Can’t wait to start this new year with all of the changes that have been going on at the school during the holidays… including one or two in our own classroom!
