Film Club stop-frame animation experiments.

Inspired by watching the fantastic French language stop-frame animation film 'A Town Called Panic' we decided to have a go at our films today. We watched the trailer to the movie and commented on how they made it and how achievable it could be.

After a demonstration on how to use the app KomaKoma, the pupils broke into groups, grabbed iPads and materials and created their films. Here are their efforts.

A few text messages between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth

We tried to imagine what a conversation would look like between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth if it took place today. How would they communicate if they had mobile phones? We placed our scenario at the moment Macbeth finds out about his future destiny through the three witches' prophecy.

We then went on www.classtools.net and used the SMS generator function to type out our dialogues on iPads.

Macbeth adventures so far...

We have started the new year off by beginning our look at William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Our first challenge was investigating a murder!

Envelopes full of CSI information then appeared in class for the pupils to interrogate and try to catch the killer of King Duncan.


Getting in on the action of the year of animation (Anim18) we watched a short musical animation that told us the full story of Macbeth.


After learning about the story and identifying the main events, we traced the emotional journeys of the main protagonists through an axis of emotion.


We also tracked the interrelationships of the main characters through sociograms.
